The Aiguilles du Diable traverse, in the heart of the Combe Maudite, is one of the often little-traveled route of the Mont Blanc massif. Far from the crowds, this route of compact granite ridges and needles takes place at an altitude of over 4,000 meters. The peculiarity of this race is that there are 6 summits of more than 4000 meters linked together which are part of the list of 82 summits of 4000 m.

Itinerary

Day 1

Ascent to the Cosmiques refuge, 3613 m, or to the Torino refuge, 3375 m. During this day, it is possible to do a short route like the Rebuffat route on the South face of the Aiguille du Midi for example.

Day 2

Night departure from the refuge, you must join the Cirque Maudit to go up the South-West corridor of the Col du Diable, 3955 m, then the Chaubert breach, 4016 m. Ascent of the Corne du Diable, 4046 m, back and forth then the traverse begins. Pointe Chaubert, 4074 m, in 2 pitches, then a descent in 3 short abseils. We see Pointe Médiane, 4097 m, with its beautiful photogenic dihedral. A short abseil brings us to the foot of Pointe Carmen, 4109 m. abseiling again before sending the Isolée, 4114 m. then the mixed terrain which eventually leads to Mont Blanc du Tacul, 4248 m.

6 summits over 4000 meters in a single route ! It only remains to descend by the normal route of Tacul and return to the Aiguille du Midi.
